a line of horse drawn carriages in Central Park

One of the most romantic and inexpensive ways to see Central Park is on a Horse & Carriage Ride. These Horse - Drawn Carriages are among New York's favorites. Either visiting New York in December or in May, you will have the opportunity to enjoy our all year environmental-friendly carriage tours.

The tour starts from fifth or sixth ave. Prior entering the park you will see the statue of "The Liberator" - Simon Bolivar. The statue was designed by Sally James Farnham, and unveiled in 1921.

After the "Artist's Gate" your tour guide will show you one of the best places to relax or get a light meal - Cop Cot. The current wooden construction is a replica of the one built in 1860. It's the best place for a nap or to read a book.

Further down you will see the most expensive apartment in the world. The last three floors of the Pier Hotel are considered the most expensive real estate in the world by Fortune Magazine. The estimated price is 75 million dollars. Not bad ah? Probably enough to buy a small island in The Carribean. It is so expensive because there is a great view of Central Park and Fifth Ave.

the skyline view from Wollman Ring

Not long after that you will see the biggest man-made ice skating ring in New York. It's called the Wollman Ring.In the winter it attracts not only amateurs but also mastes of the skate( the same was used in Home Alone 2, Love Story and Serendipity ). In the summer it is a popular amusement park called - Victorian Gardens.

 Central Park carousel

On the tour you will have the opportunity to see the second oldest carousel in the country. It was designed in 1908 by Solomon Stein and Harry Goldstein. However, the original carousel was destroyed in a fire in 1924. In the past, the motor of the caorousel were a blind mule and a horse. The animals were moving the carousel from a specially designed room under the construction. This is one of the kid's favourite places in Central Park.
